Moving can be sad...

Last night 'we' put a picture of our puppy, George, on the on-line garage sale via Facebook.  We were lucky enough to have quite a bit of interest and he went to a family with 4 boys!  He'll have a great time and we know he'll be cared for.  My knees were shaking after he left.  It's very quiet around here tonight.

One of the next areas we're working on is the kitchen... freezer/cupboards... eating what's HERE so we don't have to move it, and why buy something - bring it into the house, then take it to the new apartment???  We'll be having some interesting meals!

Tomorrow I'm going to be starting my annual "Girls' Weekend".  8 hours on the road/oil change/dropping off school materials in Worthington and............... we'll see what else I can cram into the day.

Time to load the car............ after watching Jeopardy!

Monday...

Where did the weekend go???  I've sorted and sorted!  I have a close to 15 boxes of teaching supplies going to new homes, there are 7 boxes of items going to the thrift store in my car, and a pickup load went to the dump this morning.

I found out at 8:30am that the Realtors wanted to see the house, but it was FULL of boxes and stuff... so I went into high gear and accomplished more than I thought possible.

There's a showing at 4pm so I need to go to the thrift store and keep sorting.
Bye!

Saying Good-bye

Today I said Good-bye to two wonderful friends.  Kathy and Deb left for their homes in MN.  Many of my teaching supplies are going with them... and other items are going to new homes as well.  Some fit with our Daycare - Some will be taken to the thrift store - There are also items being packed for my niece who plans to major in elementary education.

Deb, Kathy, and I enjoyed seeing sites, sharing meals, and talking, talking talking.  It is so fun to see good friends and reconnect.  As I go through papers I've developed I think of them as friends too.  A smile will spread across my face as I remember a child enjoying the activity or how a co-worker and I organized the pages.  So many memories as I start this process.  The goal is to keep them happy and enjoyable.

Tomorrow will begin with trips to recycling - thrift stores - storage areas - and on the search for boxes!

Life Changes...

Soooooooo much has happened in the last year or so - The latest is we are moving.... from a 3200 sq ft house to a 2 bedroom (+den) apartment!  This just happend YESTERDAY - but I'm already giving things away.... Teaching supplies are flying out the door to my good friend Deb.  She and I taught together for many years and I know they are going to a good home, but it's sad too.  The HOURS spent collecting items for my classroom were enjoyable and I LOVED providing books for the children to read.  Right now they are just sitting on shelves.  The books will be poured over once more.  That's a wonderful thought.  I think I'll leave it there right now.  HUGS!
